Wreaths are a common embellishing element for a lot of occasions and events. In this article we will try to hint at a few of the versions of those variant kinds. Let’s start off with the,

Valentine’s Wreath

Without even a thought you obviously know that this wreaths has to have a heart shape. For decorating part make use of candy hearts, a few old mushy love letters, cut-out pictures of angels or photos of your beloved and last but not the least a Valentine garland. Other than these if there’s anything, any little thing that reminds you of your Love or means a lot to the relationship then happily place it on the wreath. Attach the candy hearts at regular intervals while winding the Valentine garland all throughout the wreath. So that makes a grand Valentine wreath for you!!

Next, comes the Easter Wreath.
For the Easter, keep the wreath shape like resembling an egg. Now entwine some dried spring flowers like lilies or magnolias onto the wreath. Take some Easter eggs and add floral wire to one side of the eggs with glue. Attach the eggs to the wreath by winding the wire around the wreath. If you plan to crack a surprise with an Easter treat then you may jolly well fill the eggs with some kind of delight.

Following is 4th of July and obviously the occasion calls for a wreath.
These wreaths intend a special purpose and hence need to be of a unique kind, so to start with concentrate only on red, blue and white for colours for the wreath. Pick up some favorable mini attachments from a craft store. Add a few fireworks on to the wreath with glue. For the adorning part you may use mini black cats, small sparklers, etc. hence, keep this particular wreath away from the reach of children.

Next comes Halloween.
And this is the traditional spooky time. So make a spooky wreath for all the onlookers to gaze at with awe. The common yet innovative accents may be spiders, ghosts, pumpkins. All of these can be easily attached with a hot glue gun. Some candy corn and miniature candy pumpkins may also look great. Now for the ultimate scary look wind a Halloween garland all around the wreath and get scary at the sight!!

Christmas brings with it the sweet smell of the festive wreaths. But this time you can try your hand at a different kind of a wreath on Christmas and not the customary one making a decorative festive statement of your own. Take a few expert tips from us and be the trend setter.
• Here’s a very innovative idea. Cut little images from erstwhile Christmas cards from the previous years and insert them amidst the floral wire.
• Holiday pictures may also look good in place of the Christmas cards.
• Collect a few miniature ornaments like little turtle-doves made of shells and tie onto the wreath along with the customary dried leaves and flowers and pine cones and acorns and nuts and holly and bells.
• Attach all these items to the wreath using glue gun.
• A few scraps of marble paper cut into desired shapes or little ribbon-bows may add to the grandeur of the wreath. The glue will take care of all these stuffs.
• Another idea is to wrap the tiny square foams and wrapping paper and ribbon and then place them on the wreath.
This is an entirely open arena for creativity. Whatever we pointed out other than that if you can come up with any other little decorating idea go on and do it. Enjoy the magic of what all you can do.

Similarly, try out a new hand on New Year. It is a time for complete fun and frolic and no one really cares for a wreath at this time of the year. But even this occasion is a great one for embellishing a little. Okay, so wait up and see what we have in store.
• Purchase a few mini champagne bottles, you will come across these in a party favors section of any liquor shop.
• Other than these buy a few horn blowers, confetti and party hats.
• Affix the confetti to a cut-out of a paper plate and then put to on to the wreath with glue.
• Add all the other tit-bits you have gathered on to the wreath with glue.
• Now enjoy the fun it adds to the entire ambience of the holiday on New Year’s.

Just a little mish-mash of pine cones, a little ribbon and a wire coat hanger can revive a unique gifting idea or even be an innovation for Christmas, a little dried flower arrangement to be precise. Take some of our easy to follow guidelines and make one yourself.
In the first place you need some,

• Duct tape
• Approximately eight pine cones, keep a few extra in case you need
• A wire coat hanger
• A few decorating items like satin ribbon, accenting leaf and fruit embellishments (a few similar ones as used while making a Christmas basket).
• And, glue

Now you make the wreath.

• Firstly, cut the wire coat hanger into two halves. Bend it into a circle. Twist the two cut ends together.
• Once the ends are well-secured cover the entire thing with the duct tape, this will help keep the ends together giving the pine cones a superior surface to stick onto.
• Now as the circle is ready start fixing the pine cones with a hot glue gun.
• Leave them to dry and turn hard.
• Now it is the time for the decoration, you may add a holly and a ribbon made out of crafting foam. Red beads may go well as holly berries to make it look more apt.

Now it’s all ready. If you think you want a larger wreath than the one you made right now then follow the same procedure only don’t cut the wire hanger into halves in the beginning.

Fillers are an indispensable part of a dried flower wreath and the process of wreath-making. Without the fillers-greenery no wreath could have looked that plush and attractive as the way they look all the time. Putting aside the prime fruits and foliage and the wreath base what counts to the healthy look of any wreath are the fillers. So we dedicate this article to a detailed discussion on the various kinds of filler foliage you can have to enrich your wreaths.

First on the list is the flowering Italian Oregano. Scientifically called the Origanum vulgare, this plant is great both for ornamentation and garnishing purposes. This plant is just apt for the purposes thanks to its awesome fragrance, the red-flushed green leaves and the purple-brown stems. What add to its crowning beauty are the clusters of lavender-pink blooms which look great when bordering other flowering plants. Also in the list are Woolly Oregano, Showy pink Oregano and Kent Beauty Oregano.

Next, is the Powis Castle Artemisia. Botanically known as Artemisia x. ‘Powis Castle’ this is a perennial plant with unique silvery green foliage. The tint makes it apt for embellishing purposes making to wreath making.

Next is the Vitex Bouquet. These are hand-sized fingerlike shrubs with an inimitable blend of dark green and silvery violet in the underneath. They look lovely when placed on a wreath. The sheer beauty lies in the long grape colored flower stems which appear really attractive in the entire ensemble.

Following are the Bee Balm Flowers. Bee Balm Blossoms come in a diverse variety starting with Eastern Bee balm to Bergamot to Wild Oswego Tea to Horsemint and Monarda. The aromatic leaves and the vibrant flowers are just too good for floral arrangements and pot pourries.

So there you are, you have some of the basic filler and accentuating plants you may make use of while making a nice vibrant dried floral wreath.

The fall crop conventionally renders vibrantly colorful and remarkable ornamental pieces. So why not celebrate the bounty of the fall harvest making a nice, customary harvest wreath?
Here’s our list of requirements,
• Magnolia or lemon leaves
• Any fruit, preferably apple, or any else you like.
• Pine cones
• Yarrow
• Foam wreath base
• Floral pins
• Green spray paint
• Lotus pods
• Wooden meat skewers
• Hot glue gun
• Green paddle wire
How do you make it…

• First, spray paint the wreath frame into green.

• Pin the lemon or magnolia leaves on to the wreath base (preferably lemon leaves as they dry faster and last for long, long time). Pin the leaves placing them in an angle, which will look good and hold more securely.

• Take two meat skewers and trim them at an angle to create points where you insert it into the wreath and thereon into an apple. The apple will remain stuck well if two skewers are pricked on to an angle.

• Now affix the fruit onto the wreath by putting the trimmed ends into the wreath base. Now start adding on fruit clusters in the same way attaching other fruits like limes and lemons.

• Next in a same way attach the yarrow and the pine cones.
• Now wind the green paddle wire around the pine cone and twist around creating a stem to be inserted with the closer.
• Trim the pods and slot in into the wreath.
• Finally, fix some more pin cones, smaller ones with hot glue. A few okra pods and surrounding dried flowers will also go well.
• In case the fruits don’t give lustre you may sprinkle some cooking oil for a nice shine. To keep the wreath fresh you can change the fruits on a regular basis.

When the primary purpose is to express sympathy then it remains constant and regardless of the type and kind of wreath you choose or make. Just see that your wreath looks enough to say that you care.
Traditionally the customary practice of sending condolence wreaths was sent to the funeral homes while the service was being viewed. But soon the fresh flowers would give away to a grey and browned mess. A nice and innovative evolution to this event is to send dried flower condolence wreaths. The pre-dried flowers retain both the colour and lustre of the original blossoms yet the plus point with these is they retain the freshness and ensure longevity for a much longer period of time.
Either the bereaved family holds a service or not you can very well send a dried-flower wreath showing that you care and respect and at the same time they would love to preserve it on a mantelpiece or somewhere else as the look is too intimidating. This small token on your part will surely lend an aid to the unfortunate grieving process. Sometimes when all the friends and associates leave, the mourning relatives start feeling alone. This is another opportune time when a nice dried flower condolence wreath can be a real balm to their sorrows.
So what you do is select a nice choice of flowers that were of choice to the departed soul. Dry them over a period of a week starting from funeral service day. As a week passes by the flowers and foliage will be well ready to be made into a wreath. Make a nice sturdy wreath making it symbolic to the situation and take it in person to the bereaved family. You will surely bring a big, nice smile on the faces of the unfortunate family members.
So just, go ahead and extend your feelings of empathy with a dried flower condolence wreath.

You may often come across a “in lieu of flowers” tag on a condolence wreath. Now, what exactly does it mean? This exactly means, in accordance with flowers. Actually a lot of the times flowers help you communicate a lot of things that erstwhile you find quite hard to express or in that case don’t even have words for. Hence, they are just too appropriate for any occasion, something as heart-relenting as a funeral and that too with a good taste and a nice note.

Often individuals want to show empathy and respect for the deceased in a multiple ways. Like they often want to make contributions of charity or food donations or extend a helping hand or distribute cards and flowers on a funeral or remembrance occasion. On such occasions condolence wreaths appear to be working wonders providing the signature way to tribute. They add warmth to the service and provide a lot of the perceptible and poignant support that the bereaved ones require in abundance.
Many people want to express sympathy and show respect for the deceased in a variety of ways, including charitable contributions, food donations, a helping hand, or cards and flowers.

Flowers also play a functional role, adding warmth to the service and providing the visible, emotional support that the grief-stricken ones need during this time. Funeral directors agree that most people do not want a service completely devoid of flowers. This way you can make them realize that you care and are ready to lend a hand of support in their hour of sorrow, although it is not that easy to console or comfort a relative or a friend who has lost a close and beloved one.

But condolence wreath is a simple yet grand way of expressing your sympathy at the same time commemorating the lost soul.
With changing times even the funeral services have undergone a huge change. They have evolved to be rather short with transient families and fewer friends. The traditional burial which used to last for three days has now shifted down to just one, hence earlier the wreaths had a linked pattern and were served over a period of three consecutive days but now just a day of service is intended to serve the purpose. Hence, you can design your wreath to be that way.

Nowadays, at a funeral you may come across anything from the traditional Victorian sympathy arrangements to present-day novel, original, creative designer wreaths. This second type generally characterizes a mixed blossom blend that is too fresh and looks almost as if just picked from the backyard.

Another feature of the contemporary version of condolence wreaths is that they show a rampant use of flowering plants and greenery. Flowering plants as in, entire flowering shoots with all the leaves, buds and flowers are picked from the plants and wired onto the wreaths.

The contemporary options have developed from a certain special need. This way the wreaths can be later on taken back home and preserved as a memento or sent to the hospitals or in that case to some place of worship after the service is over.
Now, if you are wondering how exactly you can make your condolence somewhat special than the other wreaths then here are a few expert tips from us to help you out.

• If you intend to make your flowery accolade particularly exceptional try to create an array that fits the decedent’s personality. For instance, a bucolic basket with some wild flowers would be a great way of attributing a person who was fond of the outdoors.
• An obvious way is obviously to use the deceased’s favorite flower or at least favorite colour in the wreath.
• If you shared a special relation with this person then you may also use a little something that meant a lot to both of you, like a common flower of choice or a favorite chocolate or the fruit both of you relished together.
• Dry all the stuffs you are planning to accentuate on to the wreath, the flowers, greenery, fruits, etc and thereon fix on to the wreath base.

Such a wreath is surely to attract attention and thereon appreciation as well.

Condolence wreaths and bouquets and sympathy flowers have traditionally continued to be part of the memorial services and interment in almost every ethnicity all over the world. What have changed are the trends and the ways in which we bid a goodbye to our beloved ones. Often you may find yourself plunged into a confusion as to how to express your condolence, what sort of a wreath will be enough to express the intensity of your feelings and the deep-trodden sense of loss you feel. A glance through the florist’s shop may not be enough to satisfy your expectations. So why try to buy? Why not make one yourself and convey your sympathy in a way that satisfies your intense feelings?
Here a few tips from us,
• Pick up some nice white oriental or arum lilies, tulips or incarnations, whichever you prefer.
• Now as taught to you earlier, make the wreath base.
• Wire some foundational foliage around the wreath base, you can use vine foliage for this purpose.
• Now start wiring the flower heads gently to the wreath cutting off the stems till the bloom ends.
• You may also put some bloom buds to make it look a bit classier.
• In case you make the entire wreath with fresh florals then instead of already dried ones, place the ready wreath into a large glass platter on some silica gel and cover with aluminum foil fro half-a-day.
• Or else use the micro-wave to dry the full wreath. But be careful about the temperature as neither the leaves not the flowers should get too dried. They should retain a part of the natural exotic look.
As far as the look is concerned a traditional funeral appears to be the best with a lush blend of white florals and green foliage. These days some violet and pink is also in rampant use. In that case roses and arum lilies look great. So you may trail a different path and introduce a dash of fresh mix of seasonal flowers as well. Finally, put a family name or a signature on a little white card and tag it to the wreath with some pink or white satin ribbon.

Condolence wreaths are wished-for to extend sympathies on the sad demise of a loved one. The purpose is to offer tribute to the memories of the dead by offering flowers through a kind little gesture of sensitivity. At times flowers serve a wonderful role of expressing all that which even words can’t at times. At an hour of crisis, sending a condolence wreath can be the most apt way you can behave in. So if you want to create a condolence wreath on your own for a near and dear one then we may help you in a very effective way to achieve the goal and thereby express your feelings.

Traditional funeral wreaths can be made in various ways. One of the simplest ones comprise of the traditional flowers. You may also make your condolence wreath with some seasonal flowers like an imposing mix and match of a verdant plush rose wreath with some other array of blossoms.

Be a little choosy while you select the blossoms, keep and eye on the colours remembering the occasion the wreath is intended to go to. It is better to follow the traditional method of wreath making that goes the best with condolence wreaths.

So the basic guideline remains the same while you are preparing the wreaths base and wiring the hanger. Following that when you are about to accentuate with the flowers, go for medium-sized open (dried) white rose blossoms. Hydrangeas can be used for filling. Or else you can make the entire wreath using Bay’s Breath. It will look really good. In case you want to use some foliage incorporate a few dried ivy shoots or dried garden vines, but keep it simple. Don’t over do the entire array; the blooms should look as if embedded amidst the nice line of dried foliage. A nice mix and match of white and green along with the entire ambience of the dried florals will not only make the wreath a special one but the bereaved family will be able to preserve it for some time in memory of the occasion and the one lost.
